Silent Film Night at Vizcaya

Silent Film Night at VizcayaViewing Vizcaya

Wednesday, February 6, 2013

7:00 p.m., Main House

Did you know that when he resided at Vizcaya, James Deering often hosted social events for his family and friends—including film screenings inside the Courtyard of the Main House?

Join us for Viewing Vizcaya and travel back in time (almost 100 years!) to experience firsthand what it might’ve been like to be a guest of Mr. Deering’s. This screening series explores historical silent films of the early 1900s accompanied by live pipe organ music.

True Heart Susie (1919)

Lilian Gish, silent film star and one-time guest of James Deering, plays the lead role as Susie, a sweet and loyal girl who makes a great sacrifice for the man that she loves. But, as Susie learns, no good deed goes unpunished.

Treat yourself to a themed cocktail or traditional movie fare (available for purchase) and experience this historical love story in a lovely historic setting!

Tickets $15; available onsite from 6:00-7:30 p.m. on the evening of the program. Seating is limited.
