What’s more fun than a barrel of monkeys? How about being a jockey in the second annual Pompano Has Heart Bounce Horse Derby at the Pompano Beach Seafood Festival on Saturday, April 27!
Your family, friends, business associates and neighbors will be laughing and cheering as your favorite jockey competes in this unique challenge on the sand. And you can help a great local charity by having your business, civic group or whoever sponsor a horse in the race.
Pompano Has Heart, Inc. is the city’s disaster relief charity that raises money and commodities to help those in need both locally and abroad.
For a $200 donation to Pompano Has Heart, Inc. (which is a not-for-profit corporation with 501c3 status), sponsors will get to have their “jockey” compete in the 40 foot grueling stretch course that will be on the beach at the Seafood Festival in Pompano Beach. Each sponsor will also get four free tickets ($50 value) to the event plus great advance publicity.
First place prize for the winning sponsor of the bounce horse derby is the coveted Seafood Festival Derby Trophy Cup, a special prize from the Pompano Beach Chamber of Commerce and the bragging rights of all South Florida for one year.
The bounce horse derby will take place at 4:00 pm in front of the Community Stage Saturday, April 27. Rain date is Sunday, April 28 at 4:00 pm. If more than five sponsors enter the race there will be elimination heats held before the finale.
