Orange Bowl Hosts 2012 Cheer & Dance Championships

   The Orange Bowl will host the 2012 Orange Bowl Cheer & Dance Championships presented by Sports Authority.

 

WHAT:                    The 13th annual Orange Bowl Cheer & Dance Championships presented by Sports Authority offers more than 1,500 cheerleaders and dance teams the opportunity to compete in a one-day competition. Teams will be judged in eight divisions (mini, pee wee, junior prep, prep, junior varsity, varsity, semi-pro, pro) and three squad sizes (small, medium, large).

 

The Cheer & Dance competition is one of two major youth sporting events held by the Orange Bowl Youth Football Alliance presented by Sports Authority each year. Additionally, the Football Championships crown the best-of-the-best on the field each season. This year the Football Championships will be held on Dec. 8-9 at FIU Stadium.

 

The Orange Bowl Youth Football Alliance is now in its 14th season and serves more than 16,000 young football players and cheerleaders in nine football leagues across South Florida. Since its inception in 1999, the Orange Bowl has invested approximately $5 million in youth sports in South Florida.
