Miami’s 21st-century chamber orchestra, Nu Deco Ensemble, returns to the Arsht Center for its action-packed season finale on April 28!

The night will be highlighted by a stunning symphonic reinterpretation celebrating the 25th anniversary of The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, the 1998 debut solo album by acclaimed artist Ms. Lauryn Hill. This landmark record claimed space in hip-hop culture for Black feminism and remains significant today as it influenced a generation of soul and hip-hop artists.

The ensemble will also premiere a Nu Deco-commissioned orchestral work from composer, producer, and bassist Derrick Hodge, as well as host a collaborative performance with Allen Stone, who blends everything from edgy soul-pop and earthy folk-rock to throwback R&B and Parliament-inspired funk. Lastly, the program will feature “Symphonic Metamorphosis” by genre-bending German composer Paul Hindemith.
