NICK LACHEY AND JIMMIE JOHNSON’S 3rd ANNUAL SUPER SKINS WEEKEND AT THE BILTMORE

Nick_Lachey_JCelebrities Contribute Approximately $300k for Twenty Charities Across the Country

Multi-platinum recording artist Nick Lachey and four-time reigning NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion Jimmie Johnson teed-off in their 3rd annual Super Skins Celebrity Golf Classic at the Biltmore Hotel Golf Course in Coral Gables, FL this past Super Bowl XLIV weekend.  Proceeds from the event totaled close to $300,000 and will benefit multiple charities including, the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund, Muscular Dystrophy Association, the Jimmie Johnson Foundation, the Nick Lachey Foundation and many more.

Joining Lachey and Johnson on the green were stars of stage, screen and sport, including Joey Fatone, Drew Lachey, Creed drummer Scott Phillips, NFL great and Fox Sports Net analyst Jason Sehorn, Cincinnati Bengals’ Dhani Jones, LPGA Golfer Cristie Kerr,  2010 NFL Hall of Famer Jerry Rice, New York Jets’ Jay Feely,  World series of poker champion Greg Raymer, Miami Dolphins’ Jason Taylor, ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit, former MLB pitching great Jeff Fassero, MLB All Star Jamie Moyer, Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ WNick_Lachey_Jill Allen, NFL Quarterback and Super Bowl Champion Chris Redman, Quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons Matt Ryan, former Miami Dolphin Rob Konrad, NFL Receiving Great Tim Brown, Pro Football Hall of Famer Marcus Allen and 2 time pro Bowler Darryl Talley. The 3rd Annual Super Skins weekend kicked off a special pre-party at Hotel 944 @ The Eden Roc with a special performance by Snoop Dogg on Thursday evening.

“Both Jimmie and myself were blown away by the support we got at this year’s Super Skins.  We are facing tough times where, unfortunately, important charitable and non-profit organizations get hit the hardest.  We are so thankful to all the celebrities who came out and our supporters for helping Super Skins have yet another successful year and driving much needed funds to 20 causes that so desperately need them,” stated Lachey.

“The way our racing season falls, the Super Bowl is always one of the sporting events I get to enjoy. Now that Nick and I started Super Skins, the weekend has taken on a whole new meaning.  Again, we want to thank everyone who supported our efforts this entire weekend and helped to get some well deserved funds to some great organizations,” stated Johnson.

This year, Super Skins partnered with Cincinnati Bell Technology Solutions (CTBS) for the 3rd Annual Super Skins Celebrity Golf Classic. “We’re thrilled to be a part of this event,” said John Burns, President of CTBS.  “It is an honor to partner with this amazing group of celebrities and athletes to give back to Nick_Lacheyso many worthy causes.”

The Super Skins Celebrity Golf Classic challenged celebrities to win individual holes in a team-skins format.  Winning celebrities played for a charity of their choice including: Joey Fatone for the Fatone Family Foundation; Nick Lachey and Jerry Rice for the Nick Lachey Foundation; Drew Lachey for Autism Speaks; Jason Taylor for the Jason Taylor Foundation; Tim Brown for the Tim Brown Foundation; Jason Sehorn for Sehorn’s Corner; Rob Konrad for the Miami Dolphins Foundation; Josh Johnson for Boys & Girls Club-Miami Dade; Jay Feely for the Muscular Dystrophy Association; Will Allen for the Will Allen Foundation; Greg Raymer for Safe Haven for Cats; Scott Phillips for the Lewy Body Dementia Association; Kirk Herbstreit for the Kirk Herbstreit Foundation; Marcus Allen for All Stars Helping Kids; and Chris Redman and Matt Ryan for Global Outreach Ministries. In addition, one “skin” worth $15,000 was donated to the Clinton Bush Haiti Relief Fund.

The Super Skins Celebrity Golf Classic was first conceptualized by Nick Lachey and Jimmie Johnson in 2008 to raise money for a variety oNick_Lacheyf worthy causes.  The tournament challenges celebrities to win individual holes in a team-skins format. Each hole has a designated monetary value, and the celebrity team who wins the hole will allocate their winnings for donation to the charity of their choice. Over the last two years of the competition, Super Skins has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for multiple charities including The Boys and Girls Clubs of America, The Muscular Dystrophy Association, Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Nick Lachey Foundation and the Jimmie Johnson Foundation.
