Mondays are now less manic and more merry with the launch of National Hotel’s mixology event. Beginning at 7 PM, acclaimed mixologist Julio Cabrera will be fixing up some of his famous libations (think Mojitos, Pasion Cariocas, Jamaica Juleps, Mango-Cilantro Margaritas and – in a tribute to salsa songstress Celia Cruz – Asucas, to name a few). There will also be themed tasting menus and live entertainment.
National Hotel Miami Beach is pleased to announce the launch of its new mixology series showcasing creative cocktails by acclaimed mixologist Julio Cabrera. Held in the Martini Room at Blues Bar every Monday, the event will lift spirits with Cabrera’s signature hand-crafted libations, live entertainment and tempting tapas – all to the tune of special theme, which will change on a weekly basis.
From 7:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m., Cabrera will entertain guests’ palates with his extensive repertoire of colorful cocktails, each for $12, including Flamingo Mojitos, Pasion Cariocas, Jamaica Juleps, Mango-Cilantro Margaritas and – in a tribute to salsa songstress Celia Cruz – Asucas, to name a few. Imbibers may also nibble on the week’s specialty menu, featuring items such as Lime Ceviche, Avocado Steak Tar-Tar, Plaintain Chips with Latin Dip, and more, starting at $6 each. from 8:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m., live music in sync with the chosen weekly theme, as inspired by Miami’s vibrant history, will furthermore make for a less-manic and a more-merry Monday. Valet will be offered at a discounted rate of $10.
Cabrera has opened and managed several bars at star properties across the nation. In 2006, he worked alongside celebrity chef Michelle Bernstein as the lead mixologist and bar manager at her celebrated eatery Michy’s, and then at sister restaurant Sra. Martinez in 2008, providing an award-winning mixology program during his time at each venue. Julio subsequently went on to join the country’s leading spirits connoisseurs in New York City. Now, as the master mixologist at National Hotel Miami Beach, Cabrera is satisfying palates one drink at a time.
