WHAT:         Homestead Hospital is one of two hospitals in the country to receive Speediatrics, founded by Betty Jane France and supported by The NASCAR Foundation. The cheerful motorsports décor helps ease the hospital experience during more than 23,000 patient visits each year. The unique eight-bed unit is decorated with checkered flags, race cars and cartoon characters named Curves, Traxx, Six-Speed and Clutch. It is the only emergency center in south Miami-Dade County dedicated to children.
