On Super Bowl Sunday, February 7th from noon to 4:00 p.m. the Pollo Tropical® located directly across the street from Dolphin Stadium at 19500 NW 27th Avenue will attempt to break the record set in the Guinness Book of World Records for the Largest Bowl of Salsa by creating a larger-than-life salsa bowl as part of a big, family-friendly tailgate party. The ‘super bowl’ of salsa will be approximately 600 pounds or more, mixed in a giant stainless steel bowl measuring nine feet in diameter.

The free Pollo Tropical tailgate party will be a lively event for the whole family to enjoy before the big game. The tailgate will offer Pollo Tropical food samplings, live music, a children’s bounce house, a kid’s pavilion with activities, and lots of giveaways. Attendees can enter contests to win free Pollo Tropical Chicken for a Year and a contest where kids can win a free bicycle – also complimentary of Pollo Tropical.

For each spectator who participates in the record breaking event, Pollo Tropical will donate a meal to the Boys & Girls Club of Miami Dade. The full day of fun is open to the public and will be the tailgate that no one will want to miss before the biggest game of the year! “Breaking the Guiness World Record for the largest bowl of salsa is a truly momentous occasion,” said Kim Miller, Pollo Tropical’s Senior Director of Marketing. “We are thrilled to be part of this history-making event, while helping a worthy cause like the Boys and Girls Club of Miami Dade.”

The 9 feet wide and 5 feet deep bowl will be a fresh concoction of the original fresh salsa- freshly cut tomatoes, flavorful chopped onions, garlic and spices. Pollo Tropical’s original fresh salsa is part of Pollo Tropical’s creative and complimentary salsa bar. Whether you’re enjoying a popular Tropichop®, Tropical Trios or Pollo Tropical’s classic grilled chicken, a Pollo Tropical salsa is the perfect complement.
