Once again the Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders showed why Miami is the epicenter of entertainment and one of the world’s most popular destinations. On Saturday night, LIV nightclub and the historic Fontainebleau Hotel hosted the 2013 Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders Swimsuit Calendar Unveiling during a star-studded fashion show.
The evening began with the unveiling of the 2013 calendar cover, which features veteran cheerleaders Amy Madill and Samantha Ruiz, shot on location in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic by the award winning and cutting edge photographer Michael Voorhees.
Following the unveiling of the cover the capacity crowd was treated to a live performance from a pioneer of hip hop culture and one of the founding members of legendary group Run–D.M.C, Rock & Roll Hall of Famer, Darryl “DMC” McDaniels, who kept the crowd on its feet and set the atmosphere for the start of the fashion show.
The 2013 calendar was shot on the Dominican Republic side of the island of Hispaniola at various locations centered around the Barcelo Bavaro Beach Resort. Punta Cana is part of the Punta Cana-Bávaro-Veron-Macao municipal district in La Altagracia, the easternmost province of the Dominican Republic. The area has become an increasingly popular tourist attraction since 1970’s mainly due to its beaches and access to both the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. This year’s event supported by the Dominican Republic Ministry of Tourism (www.GoDominicanRepublic.com) once again benefited the Miami Dolphins Foundation which has made a commitment to the betterment of South Florida youth through a direct focus on, but not limited to, educational, health, social and community service issues. The night’s main event featured all 44 members of the Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders walking the cat-walk in a show that was choreographed by Ariann Denison and styled by Emily Snow and Dorie Grogan with fashion designs by Lila Nikole and Concolor Import Designers with Aveda Institute of South Florida providing the make-up and hair styling..
