Isle CASINO RACING POMPANO PARK to Launch new buffet concept

September 14 & 15

Isle Casino Racing Pompano Park will launch Farmer’s Pick Buffet on September 14, an all-new buffet concept featuring freshly prepared foods from Florida purveyors including a variety of fruits, herbs and vegetables hand-picked from the Isle’s own two acre farm and hydroponic garden.

Isle Casino Racing Pompano Park is the second Isle of Capri Casinos, Inc. owned to launch Farmer’s Pick Buffet. The first location opened earlier this year in Boonville, Mo.

The new regionalized “farm-to-table” concept includes an expanded menu with ingredients such as fresh-picked vegetables, fruits and herbs grown right on the expansive 200-acre property located at Powerline Road. Local vendors will supply other fresh items such as seafood, bread, eggs, cheeses, hot sauces, Florida orange blossom honey and Florida citrus.

“Florida’s growers produce a wonderful variety of food products at great value and creating dishes from them for our customers has been an energizing labor of love for our talented food and beverage team,” commented Isle General Manager Rob Wyre.

“We will offer small batch cooking delivering fresh-made foods at all of our stations. No items will be prepared from a box or can. In addition, Farmer’s Pick Buffet features six live action stations that allow customers to see first-hand how their meal is created,” added Senior Director of Food and Beverage Mark Sicilia.

Farmer’s Pick Buffet will add a new salad bar and sushi station in addition to an expanded dessert selection. The offerings will be significantly more robust with additional greens and toppings for salads and a large array of desserts, including homemade cinnamon rolls with Florida orange blossom honey icing. Just a few new vendors include: Neville and Joe’s Key West Lime Juice, Mozzarita, Alderman Farms, Pero Farms, Brother’s Bakery, HOT DAMN Hot Sauce, Sweetwater Creek Honey Farm, Zachs Zombie Sauces-Marinades, Inc., and Dat’l Do-it, Inc.

“I’m really excited for the September launch of Farmer’s Pick buffet,” said Chef de Cuisine Aaron Andryka. “I’ve been working directly with the local vendors and it’s really great to be able to stand behind Florida purveyors that I’ve personally selected and know that the ingredients selected are the best. My favorite dishes are the vegetable whole wheat flat bread with fresh mozzarella provided by Mozarrita and the orange blossom honey-glazed ham with honey provided by Sweetwater Creek Honey Farm.”
