The Marlins Mermaids invite fans to the final audition for the 2011 squad this Friday night, January 28, at Seminole Paradise in Hollywood.
After a week-long boot camp of dance routines and interviews, the 50 remaining Mermaid hopefuls will compete for coveted spots on the renowned dance team. The final audition show, to feature choreographed performances and a swimsuit competition, will test the finalists’ spirit, dance skills, personalities and sex appeal. The 2011 Marlins Mermaids team will be revealed at the end of the show.
In addition, three lucky Mermaids will be selected to travel overseas for the 2nd Annual Marlins Visit the Troops trip from February 3-11. The Marlins contingency will be visiting U.S. military personnel in Southwest Asia and Germany.
WHO: Originally debuting at the beginning of the Marlins’ 2003 World Championship season, the Marlins Mermaids are Major League Baseball’s first dance team. The Mermaids, recently voted one of Miami’s Sexiest Jobs by E! Network, are a cornerstone of the Marlins’ entertainment experience.
