Mac - 15MIAMI, FL – November 6, 2009:  The Miami Dolphins announced today that the award-winning singer/songwriter and one of country music’s most celebrated recording artists, Mac McAnally, will be the main act at the Land Shark Tailgate Stage on the AT&T Grand Plaza on Sunday, November 15th, prior to the Dolphins-Buccaneers game, with a live performance starting at 12 noon.

As a prelude to his first ever performance at Land Shark Stadium, McAnally will also perform live at this year’s official “Snowflakes In The City” Tree Lighting and Snowfall Ceremony at CityPlace Plaza in West Palm Beach, Florida on Saturday, November 14 at 6:45 p.m.  The annual Snowflakes In The City Tree Lighting and Snowfall Ceremony has become a staple attraction for West Palm Beach residents and visitors alike, establishing itself as a highlight on the South Florida events calendar.  The Miami Dolphins’ new a cappella group, Dolphins Voices, will perform holiday favorites. Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders dressed in festive costumes will entertain the crowd, and guests will have the chance to participate in contests to win amazing Dolphins prizes. 2009 has become a big year for Mac McAnally, with a No. 1 hit followed by an acclaimed album release. As one of the most respected musicians of his era and member of Jimmy Buffett’s Coral Reefer Band, he’s used to playing for big crowds, so Mac will feel right at home when he headlines on the Land Shark Tailgate Stage on November 15th.

McAnally was recently honored with ASCAP and Nashville Songwriters Association International awards for “Down The Road,” his No. 1 song with Kenny Chesney, which Mac also wrote. The two are nominated for the 2009 CMA’s Musical Event of the Year Category, which will be awarded during the November 11 national telecast on ABC from Nashville. Mac is also nominated for CMA’s Musician of the Year, an honor he won in 2008. The Miami date is part of a perpetually packed itinerary, between his solo dates and touring with Buffett.

Named to the Songwriters’ Hall of Fame in 2007 and the Mississippi Music Hall of Fame in 2008, McAnally has written six No. 1 singles in his career — including “Down The Road,” which topped the charts in the spring. Signed to Toby Keith’s Show Dog Nashville, Mac released Down By The River in August, immediately drawing the kind of accolades you’d expect for a musician, producer and artist who’s been sought out by the likes of Roy Orbison, Hank Williams, Jr., Amy Grant, Jimmy Buffett, Travis Tritt, Linda Ronstadt, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Dolly Parton and many more.

“I’m very excited to be part of the Miami Dolphins game-day experience at Land Shark Stadium,” comments McAnally. “As a long-time friend of Jimmy Buffett and member of the band, I can’t help noticing how much fun he has been having with his new family of Parrotheads and Dol-Fans.  I look forward to performing in front of Miami’s most fun-loving crowd and helping to further represent the South Florida lifestyle.”
