−   Flight network offers vast amount of choices throughout the world

Great news for Lufthansa Group customers in the Miami area and around the world! Today, Lufthansa will reinstate its flights from Miami International Airport to Munich, the airline’s Bavarian hub in Germany and the only 5-star rated airport in Europe. The resumed Munich flight complements the already existing Lufthansa flights from Miami to Frankfurt, as well as SWISS’s Zurich service. The renewed service coincides with the opening of the United States to vaccinated travelers from around the world, as well as the ability for third country nationals to transit through European Union airports, including Lufthansa Group hubs. Furthermore, the reinstated Lufthansa Munich – Miami flight is one of many routes that is reuniting families today, in the United States, after nearly two years of being separated due to the pandemic.

“The United States is one of Lufthansa Group’s most important markets outside of our home markets, and we greatly value the far reaching transatlantic relationship that continues to be a success story to this day,” said Frank Naeve, Vice President of Passenger Airline Sales, The Americas, Lufthansa Group. “The resumption of the Miami-Munich flight truly bolsters our presence in the Sunshine state. Customers in Miami, throughout the United States, as well as on a global scale, can once again fly through the Lufthansa Group hubs and access our extensive, global network that, in turn, offers the entire world, with seamless transfers.”

The Munich route will operate out of Miami on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, using Lufthansa’s flagship aircraft, the Airbus A350-900, offering a three-class configuration of Business, Premium Economy and Economy classes. LH 461 will depart Miami at 6:55pm and arrive in Munich at 10:05am the following day. All times are local. Beginning November 30, the Miami-Munich route shifts to daily service.

Lufthansa Group in Florida

The Lufthansa Group in Florida offers a robust offering throughout the state. In addition to the Miami – Munich flight beginning on November 8, Lufthansa also flies daily, with a Boeing 747-8 aircraft, from Miami to Frankfurt. SWISS flies daily from Miami to Zurich, currently with an Airbus 340-300. A shift to a Boeing 777-300ER will increase capacity during the winter peak season for SWISS.

In other Floridian markets, Lufthansa services Orlando three times weekly with an Airbus 340-300. This will shift to daily service during the peak winter season as well. On December 16, Eurowings Discover – Lufthansa Group’s new leisure-focused carrier, will launch flights to Tampa, three times per week, flying with the Airbus 330 family aircraft.

Expanding route network and worldwide connectivity

Lufthansa and the Lufthansa Group Passenger Airlines offer an extensive, worldwide network. Lufthansa international routes from North America to Munich are gradually expanding. In the U.S., DC, Boston, Charlotte, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Newark and Denver are all being served with scheduled flights to and from Munich. Furthermore, as the Group embarks on the winter travel season, an ever-expanding route network within Europe, and throughout the Middle East and Africa, continues to occur.

Anyone planning a trip should take the time to research the various guidelines and requirements throughout their travel journey. Travelers transiting beyond Europe or transferring to EU destinations should also familiarize themselves with the latest entry regulations prior to departure.

Onboard the A350-900

The A350-900 is one of the world’s most advanced, environmentally friendly long-haul aircraft. It uses 25 percent less kerosene, produces 25 percent fewer emissions and is significantly quieter on take-off.  Lufthansa’s A350-900s, part of the airline’s 5-star offering, seat 293 passengers in a three class configuration with 48 seats in Business Class, 21 in Premium Economy and 224 in Economy Class. At just under 18.4 feet wide, the cabin is more spacious than comparable models of aircraft currently in operation.

Due to the aircraft’s particular construction, passengers reach their destination feeling better rested. This is achieved through improved cabin pressure during the flight, as well as a novel LED lighting system that adjusts with the day and nighttime rhythm of the passengers.

Lufthansa Group hygiene concept – health is a main priority

On Lufthansa Group flights, passengers are required to wear a protective medical mask— either a surgical mask or an FFP2 mask, or mask with the KN95/N95 standard, during boarding, the flight and when leaving the aircraft. An exemption from the obligation to wear a mouth-nose mask during the flight is only possible for medical reasons, if the medical certificate is issued on a form provided by Lufthansa Group and a negative Covid19 test, not older than 48 hours at the scheduled start of the journey, is available.

As studies and reports have indicated, infection on board is highly unlikely. All Lufthansa Group aircraft are equipped with the highest quality HEPA air filters, which ensure an air quality similar to that in an operating room. In addition, the air circulates vertically instead of dispersed throughout the cabin.
