Le Fee Verte, Burlesque and Absinthe Club – A Perfect “10”

On Friday my cohort in crime and possibly the world’s most interesting man, Ed Miranda, called me a 1 am and exasperated, Glenn we’re  having your birthday party at Le fee Verte tomorrow. He went on to explain that Le Fee Verte is a very sexy and chic burlesque club on 71st street in Miami Beach. I explained that I had already had 4 birthday parties that week but with two words, “trust me”, I was locked in.

Burlesque – A variety show characterized by broad ribald comedy, dancing, and striptease.

A striptease or exotic dance is a form of erotic entertainment, usually a dance,  in which the performer gradually undresses, in a teasing and sexually suggestive manner, to music.

La Fee Verte“  is an exclusive, by invite only, turn-of-the-century style, tease burlesque and absinthe club in the heart of Miami Beach.   Forget Solid Gold, Tootsies, Rolex or Cheetahs. This was not some cheesy strip club with a slew of lap dance peddlers and grinning old men in rain coats but a classy exotic venue. In fact there were as many women as men, equally enjoying the entertainment. The experience provided sophisticated exotic entertainment as part of a night out with friends or that special someone.

La Fee Verte,” The Green Fairy,” derived its name from the controversial liquor absinthe. The liquor, banned for nearly a hundred years, has been rumored to be the muse for many notable artists’ inspirations such as Van Gogh, Oscar Wilde, Picasso, and Ernest Hemingway to name a few.

The location was a bit off South Beach’s beaten path in an unassuming storefront. We were permitted passage by a password and the doorman’s scrutiny and then entered the private club.  The club oozed joie de vivre with its French inspired twinkling chandeliers and posh furniture. The venue was uber sexy with several stripper poles, velvet swings, and sensual portraits along the walls. Upstairs there was a private area waiting for more intimate encounters……

I quickly made the rounds and said hello to my friends and fellow birth week celebrant, David Haller.  We had about 40 of our good friends there most of which sat behind bottle service on plush couches. The others were swirling dervishes on the dance floor under the spell of DJ Vlademar who was putting down some serious house and retro tracks. It was the perfect location, away from the SO BE fray with good friends and a good time. A very unclub club.

There were two performers, nay, artists that night.

The first performer, Irina Kazakova, was a sexy contortionist more flexible than the opinion of a politician in an election year.  She first came out with a cat-womanesque latex suit and proceeded to spin and turn from an apparatus affixed to the ceiling. She spun, twisted and dangled as we watched in amazement and wondered how she could bend so much without breaking and other private thoughts.

The second artist was Nicole Soden,  a physically stunning voluptuous siren that the made the men salivate and the women think of how they could enhance their next workout routine.  She was a combination of Rita Haywood, Rachel Welch, and Ann Margret; reminiscent  of a throwback cinema goddess of years past. She launched in to an erotic blur of acrobatic gyrations, the removal of garments and various twists and turns on the luckiest chair on the planet.  For 10 minutes all eyes were riveted on her and not as a much as a murmur was heard throughout the venue.

Every 45 minutes or so there was another performance, each more consuming than the last. Our crew enjoyed the bottle service as we told naughty stories, laughed loudly, and danced between performances. Some tried the swings with varying results. The ladies were sexy and naughty on the swings while our friend, Braha, was a bit clumsy and fell off. Next time we’ll  get him one with a seatbelt.

Our hostess , Anna, was so cool and fun and really added to our enjoyment that night. Not only was she hellishly hot, but she made us all feel like we were long time friends. As things slowed down, she even shared a few dance moves with us.  The general manager, Matthew Goldberg made us feel quite welcomed also and checked in on use periodically to ensure our good time.

A great night was had by all and the perfect end to my birthday week celebration and the start of David’s birth week.

It was an intimate night.  A quaint venue with close friends enjoying each other and the riveting sensual entertainment. A perfect appetizer to savor and order again.
