L.S. Dunes Share “Old Wounds” DEMO

L.S. Dunes, the celebrated hardcore band consisting of vocalist Anthony Green, guitarist Frank Iero, bassist Tim Payne, guitarist Travis Stever, and drummer Tucker Rule, has recently announced the release of *Lost Songs: Lines and Shapes*. This upcoming album will showcase raw and radically revealing versions of their highly acclaimed debut album, *Past Lives*, which was released in 2022. *Lost Songs: Lines and Shapes* is set to be released on November 10.

To give fans a taste of what’s to come, L.S. Dunes has shared the “Old Wounds” demo, a stripped-back version of the fan-favorite track that was released earlier this summer. The vulnerable and illuminating demo allows fans a brilliant look into the band’s creative process, highlighting Green’s beautifully exposed vocals and the haunting, intricate guitar work of Stever. Although the demo is not part of the *Lost Songs* collection, it acts as a standalone piece that captivates listeners with its raw authenticity.

The official video for “Old Wounds” demo features behind-the-scenes footage of L.S. Dunes working at Rancho De La Luna in Joshua Tree, California, the renowned desert studio where the original version of “Old Wounds” was recorded. This video provides a visual representation of the band’s dedication to their craft and the collaborative energy that brought the song to life.

Stever reflects on the inception of “Old Wounds”, stating, “The original guitar part for ‘Old Wounds’ was conceived in the L.S. Dunes text thread. It was an old riff that I had never used. I stumbled upon it and started working on it again and sent it in the middle of the night. Tim was the only one still awake… Tim had a positive response and showed enthusiasm, so I kept sending the riff ideas to him, and he would give his opinion and notes. The next morning, I ran to my studio space and recorded the guitar parts. At this point, we had numerous instrumental ideas, and it was up to Anthony what songs we would choose for the desert sessions. He sent back the most beautiful and haunting vocals and lyrics to the guitar ideas that would become ‘Old Wounds.’ It then became clear that that would be one of the songs we needed to record.”

*Lost Songs: Lines and Shapes* will feature early, stripped-down versions of all 11 tracks from *Past Lives*. Listening to these songs in their hyper-intense, original form provides both existing fans and newcomers a fresh perspective on *Past Lives*, making it a compelling artistic statement in its own right.

Fans can pre-order *Lost Songs: Lines and Shapes*, and for those looking for an exclusive experience, the Past Lives Deluxe Edition, a limited 2-LP vinyl special package including both the original album and *Lost Songs: Lines and Shapes*, is available for pre-order exclusively via the band’s online store.

In addition to the release of *Lost Songs: Lines and Shapes*, L.S. Dunes is set to join Pierce The Veil on the Jaws of Life Tour, a nationwide 23-date tour starting from November 4 and concluding on December 8. This tour promises an electrifying live experience for fans across various cities, showcasing the dynamic energy and creativity of both bands.
