Ironman 3 completes its filming in South Florida

Filmmakers filmed on location at the historic Vizcaya Museum and Gardens and public and private property in Miami and Miami Beach.  Revenue received from location fees for Vizcaya Museum and Gardens was close to $100,000.

Production filmed in and around several locations in Miami and Miami Beach.  The Miami Beach Resort hosted the superhero film production on five days. On October 10th, there was a set visit by Florida’s First Lady, Ann Scott accompanied by the State Film Commissioner, Shari Kerrigan and Miami Dade County’s Film and Entertainment industries liaison, Sandy Lighterman. Mrs. Scott was hosted by Charles Neuwirth, the Executive Director of Ironman 3 (Also produced films such as, Forrest Gump, Hugo, Phenomenon) and Robert Downey, Jr. Mrs. Scott saw first-hand the type of job creation that film and television production brings: 300 extras and 200+ crew members on the set.  Iron Man 3 is spent $15 million while filming in South Florida.  Hotel nights alone amounted to 2900 for cast and crew!

Iron Man 3 is the third installment of the Marvel Comics character Iron Man. Iron Man 3 is scheduled to be released on May 3, 2013.
