Season 11 of “Futurama” is set to premiere on Monday, July 24th with one episode. New episodes will be released weekly on Mondays on Hulu.
In entertainment news, the beloved animated series Futurama is set to make a comeback on Hulu in 2023. The show, created by Matt Groening, originally aired in 1999 and ran for seven seasons, garnering critical acclaim for its satirical commentary on contemporary society.
Futurama follows the adventures of Fry, a pizza delivery boy who gets frozen in time and wakes up in the year 3000. Along with a cast of characters including the hard-drinking robot Bender and cyclops Leela, Fry works for the Planet Express Delivery Company, traveling to every corner of the universe.
After its initial run on Fox, Futurama faced a tumultuous journey with several cancellations and revivals, ultimately finding a new home on Comedy Central from 2010-2013. Four successful direct-to-DVD releases helped pave the way for the show’s latest resurrection as a streaming series for Hulu.
Fans can expect to see the return of beloved voice actors such as John DiMaggio, Billy West, and Katey Sagal. Created by Groening and developed by Groening and David X. Cohen, the show’s executive producers include Groening, Cohen, Ken Keeler and Claudia Katz.
