Event to Support WHY in the Fight Against Hunger and Poverty

 HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – Hard Rock Cafe Hollywood, FL is kicking off the official season of giving by helping to feed children worldwide.  On Wednesday, December 16th, Hard Rock Cafe Hollywood, FL will host a live performance by Micki Free’s American Horse Trio featuring GRAMMY® Award-winning Native American musician Micki Free, David Santos (former bassist for Billy Joel and John Fogerty) and Cindy Blackman (former hard-hitting drummer for Lenny Kravitz) with special guest, Ghost of Gloria, Hard Rock’s local Ambassadors of Rock Battle of the Bands finalist.  Monetary proceeds from the event and silent auction will benefit WHY (World Hunger Year), a nonprofit organization that strives to fight against hunger and poverty in America and around the world.  All non-perishable food collected will be donated to the local non-profit organization Feeding South Florida (formerly Daily Bread Food Bank).
 
The event is part of Hard Rock International’s 2009 worldwide IMAGINE THERE’S NO HUNGER campaign, which hopes to raise awareness for child hunger and poverty through the sale of the benefit compilation digital album SERVE4 and IMAGINE THERE’S NO HUNGER limited-edition pins and bracelets. 100% of net proceeds from the campaign will be donated directly to WHY to benefit charities, including the Common Ground Program and Pathfinder Academy both located in Kenya; the Pattanarak Foundation located in Thailand; City of Joy located in India; Yéle Haiti located in Haiti; Hope North located in Uganda; Roots and Shoots located in China; Project Bona Fide located in Nicaragua and Sentebale located in Lesotho.
