HALL OF FAME LUNCHEON HONORING ANDRE “THE HAWK” DAWSON

The Florida Marlins will host a Hall of Fame Luncheon Honoring local hero Andre “The Hawk” Dawson at the Four Seasons Hotel in Miami on Friday, August 6 at 11:30 A.M. Proceeds from the charitable luncheon will benefit the Marlins Community Foundation, the Beacon Council Foundation and the Alzheimer’s Association of South Florida.

Guests will join many baseball greats, including Hall of Famers Tony Perez and Gary Carter, to honor “The Hawk” for his exceptional career and induction into the National Baseball Hall of Fame, Class of 2010. Dawson, who is an eight-time All-Star, eight-time Gold Glove winner and 1987 National League Most Valuable Player, will also be joined by Marlins players, staff, former teammates, family and friends.

“This is a very exciting day for our community as we welcome Andre back from Cooperstown and honor a home-grown Hall-of-Famer,” said Marlins President, David Samson.  “We are extremely proud as a franchise that Andre will be inducted this weekend, officially becoming a member of a very exclusive club. This luncheon will be our community’s first opportunity to welcome him back to Miami after his induction, while giving the chance for all to meet current and past Major League stars.”

Attendees may purchase a “Hall of Fame Table”, which includes a VIP Meet and Greet with The Hawk, an “MVP Table” of 10 or an individual “All-Star Ticket”, all starting at $200.
