Dolphins reward season ticket members with additional tickets

The Miami Dolphins today announced that this Sunday’s Miami Dolphins vs. Houston Texans game will be telecast live throughout South Florida. The Dolphins, along with Bud Light, the team’s exclusive beer sponsor, will purchase the remaining allotment of unsold tickets. Kickoff is at 4:15 p.m.

“Steve Ross cares deeply about our fans and feels strongly that televising this particular game is important to keep those fans who watch at home connected to our young and exciting team,” said Dolphins CEO Mike Dee.  “We also recognize that these are difficult economic times and that a portion of our fan base may be unable to attend games given the challenging environment, which underscores the importance of keeping this game on television.”

Bud Light’s allotment of tickets will be distributed locally to fans 21 years of age and older through local charities and radio partners.

“We greatly appreciate Bud Light’s support in making this game available on television for our fans,” Dee said. “As a long-time supporter of the Dolphins and new beer sponsor of the NFL, they are demonstrating their commitment to football fans throughout South Florida.”

The Dolphins will distribute the allotment of tickets which they purchased on a complimentary first-come, first-served basis to its premium seat and season ticket members. This opportunity to allow season ticket members to select additional seats at no cost serves as an additional member benefit and helps to create a home-field advantage.

“We want to reward those fans who make the ultimate commitment to us on a season-long basis by providing them with these additional complimentary tickets,” said Dee. “This practice also ensures that we maintain the price integrity and value of their season membership.  We encourage our season ticket members to take advantage of this special offer and invite more fans – especially kids and ‘first-timers’ – to experience Dolphins football live at Sun Life Stadium,” added Dee.

WFOR-CBS4, the Dolphins’ television partner, also purchased an allotment of tickets.

Tickets for the contest will still continue to be sold at the normal Dolphin ticket outlets through Sunday’s kickoff.  Fans wishing to attend the game, as well as all of the other six regular season contests remaining on the Dolphins’ 2011 home schedule can purchase tickets through season ticket packages or by purchasing individual tickets packages. Season tickets offer fans a deep discount over single game ticket price, a FREE FanVision device with access to replays and stats as well as other exclusive in-stadium features (for every two seats purchased) and other special benefits.  Tickets may be purchased by calling 1-888-FINS-TIX (1-888-346-7849), via e-mail at seasontix@dolphins.com, online at the all-new www.Dolphins.com or in person at the Sun Life Stadium sales office located at Gate E.  Premium seats are also available by calling 305-623-6200.
