DOLPHINS AND WFOR-CBS4 ENSURE TELECAST OF SUNDAY’S DOLPHINS-BILLS GAME

The Miami Dolphins along with WFOR-CBS4 worked together to ensure this Sunday’s Miami Dolphins vs. Buffalo Bills game will be telecast live throughout South Florida. Kickoff is at 1:00 PM. In addition to guaranteeing the telecast of the game locally, thousands of area high school football players from the tri-county area will attend the game as guests of the Dolphins in conjunction with the team’s celebration of high school football in South Florida. Season ticket holders also will be thanked for their support of the team with additional tickets to the game.

For more than 10 years, the Dolphins have honored area high school coaches with the Under Armour Coach of the Week award. During a pregame ceremony, the team will formally rename the award the “George Smith Coach of the Year Award” in honor of the legendary St. Thomas Aquinas Head Football Coach. During Smith’s tenure, the Raiders have won 19 district championships and recorded five state runner-up finishes and three state championships. St. Thomas Aquinas has produced more current NFL players than any other high school with eight professionals on the 2011 opening day rosters. The Dolphins will also be announcing the creation of the Dolphins High School All-Star team and will be recognizing the region’s top football players for their achievements throughout the 2011 season.

“As we continue to celebrate football in the state of Florida, we are proud to recognize one of the most decorated high school coaches and the thousands of area high school football players during the on-field celebration,” said Mike Dee, Dolphins CEO. “As we have done throughout this season, we also wanted to give our most dedicated fans, our season ticket members, additional tickets to help us have a home field advantage as the team goes for its third consecutive win.”

The Dolphins will distribute the allotment of tickets on a complimentary basis to its season ticket and premium members on a first-come, first-served basis.  Tickets for the contest will still continue to be sold at the normal Dolphin ticket outlets through Sunday’s kickoff.  To purchase tickets, fans should visit www.Dolphins.com or call 1-888-FINS-TIX (1-888-346-7849).
