Classic Spring Block Party Weekend Latin Style at Seminole Casino Hollywood, Saturday, May 28

Seminole Casino Hollywood will hold its Classic Spring Block Party Weekend – Latin Style on Sat., May 28 featuring a Classic Dominoes Tournament, a Jalapeno Eating Contest, and music to dance to by the Latin sensation, Roberto Obregon, and Miami DJ Jammin’ Johnny Caride.

 

The Classic Dominoes Tournament, presented by the South Florida Dominoes Association (SFDA), begins at 11 a.m. If you have what it takes to dominate in dominoes, enter for only $25, $5 of which will be donated to Rotary International’s Rotary Education Foundation. (Lunch is included.) First place winner will receive $1,500 cash with additional prizes for second through sixteenth place winners. Space is limited to a maximum of 200 players. Pre-registration is at www.dominoflorida.com or at any events hosted by any SFDA and in-person the day of the tournament before 10 a.m.

 

The Jalapeno Eating Contest (calling all people with cast iron stomachs) at 3 p.m. could earn contestants up to $250 in free casino play. The rules are simple: Whoever eats more hot jalapenos in three minutes gets the prize – plus a nice cold glass of water! Registration at the casino begins at 2 p.m. Space is limited, so get their early. And if you don’t like your peppers spicy, come watch those who do!

 

Roberto Obregon is a talented Miami singer, songwriter, and guitarist who created a unique sound by blending classic Latin music with pop and the blues. Dance the day away with Roberto and local, popular DJ Jammin’ Johnny from 1 – 6 p.m. There’ll also be free Presidente beer, free Julie’s Classic Rum Punch and more!
