BUCCAN CELEBRATES FIVE YEARS IN PALM BEACH January 22, 2016

Partners Clay Conley, Piper Quinn and Sam Slattery are thrilled to celebrate the five-year anniversary of their critically acclaimed and flagship restaurant Buccan in Palm Beach, FL on Friday, January 22, 2016. The restaurant has become one of the most beloved culinary destinations in South Florida, and has been credited with kick-starting a Palm Beach dining revolution. Buccan is a modern American grill inspired by Conley’s love of small plates and world ingredients, and is a showcase for the James Beard Award-nominated chef to experiment daily with his innovative culinary creations.

To celebrate its five years of success, the team is taking the restaurant back to its roots for the anniversary. Curated from Buccan’s daily menus over the past five years, a specials menu of guest’s past favorites will be offered for this occasion, including items such as the Grilled Florida Corn with aioli, cotija cheese, Mexican chilies and lime; the Colorado Lamb “Scottadito” with harissa and raita; and the BBQ Quail with cheddar biscuit, creamed corn and bacon – all cooked with wood-fire, Conley’s signature. The chef’s infamous Warm Brussels Sprouts Caesar with croutons, white anchovy and parmesan will also be resurrected.

Fan favorites from the opening week’s menus have now become classics, and have been offered every night since January 2011. These dishes, which include the Short Rib Empanada with salsa criolla and aji Amarillo; the Steak Tartare with grilled bread, black truffle and a crispy egg yolk; the Baby Kale Salad with parmesan, pine nuts, black currants and lemon vinaigrette; the Squid Ink Orecchiette with Italian sausage, conch, basil and chilies; and the Mushroom Pizza with grilled green onion, black truffle vinaigrette and gruyere, will be highlighted prominently,

Buccan’s signature cocktail, the Buccan T (which also stands as an acronym for its ingredients: Basil, Unsweetened iced tea, Cranberry, Citrus, Agave Nectar), will be offered at $5 each, all night long, to commemorate its five years of popularity. And, in keeping with Buccan tradition, the Friday night celebration will feature local DJ Rey spinning groovy tunes to keep the festive mood going late into the night.

The team is very excited to celebrate this milestone in their restaurant group, which has now expanded to include the Asian-inspired “little sister” Imoto, Buccan Catering, the gourmet to-go Sandwich Shop at Buccan, and their recently opened Italian restaurant in West Palm Beach, Grato (which means “grateful” in Italian).

In the spirit of grato, the partners are in humble gratitude for the response to Buccan and its successors. “We are incredibly lucky to have such a loyal, supportive and encouraging community,” says Conley. “Opening Buccan in Palm Beach was a dream realized. It’s been an amazing five years.”

The group is also thankful and aware of the impact that Buccan has had.
