Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade Hosted CarMax Cares Day at its Hank Kline and Northwest Facilities

Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade hosted the CarMax Cares Day at its Hank Kline and Northwest facilities. CarMax, Inc., (NYSE: KMX), the nation’s largest retailer of used cars, as part of its CarMax Cares Month had teams of volunteers participate in a fun-filled day with the children on June 30. Volunteer Associates dedicated their time and energy to interact in a series of activities throughout the day with the children.  The program offered water slides, dunk tanks and food for the Club members.

“The event was a huge success,” said Alex Rodriguez-Roig, Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade.  The children enjoyed a fun-filled day and appreciated being part of the CarMax’s Volunteer Team-Builder Program.

The CarMax Foundation’s standard Volunteer Team-Builder Program grants $500 to participating non-profit organizations. The Foundation is doubling grants to the non-profits for associate volunteer team-builders to $1,000 in June on behalf of the hardworking teams supporting their local communities.

“CarMax teams are passionate about having a positive impact on their communities,” said Dodie Fix, president of The CarMax Foundation and assistant vice president of procurement.  “Volunteers get to know each other outside of a work environment while making a lasting impression on local non-profit organizations.”
