The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County and Broadway Across America, together with NETworks Presentations, LLC and Blue Man Productions are pleased to announce that a new theatrical touring production of BLUE MAN GROUP will play at the Ziff Ballet Opera House of the Adrienne Arsht Center from May 13-18, 2014 as part of the six-show Broadway in Miami 2013-2014 subscription package.
This engagement is an exciting new addition to the 2013-2014 Broadway in Miami subscription season presented by Florida Theatrical Association, Broadway Across America and the Adrienne Arsht Center.
The theatrical tour of BLUE MAN GROUP features brand new content highlighted by classic Blue Man favorites.
The new sound, set, and video design centering around a proscenium-sized LED curtain and high-resolution screen create an entirely new, high-impact visual experience for Broadway houses across the nation.
The critically acclaimed BLUE MAN GROUP creates experiences that defy categorization. BLUE MAN GROUP is best known for multi-media performances that feature three bald and blue characters who take the audience on a journey that is funny, intelligent and visually stunning. A live band, whose haunting tribal rhythms help drive the show to its climax, accompanies the Blue Men.
“In order to create a touring version of our theatrical production, we knew we had a creative challenge to tackle,” says Blue Man Group co-founder Philip Stanton. “We needed to find a way to transform theatres of all shapes and sizes into spaces in which the Blue Man can intimately connect with the audience, where the audience can become engaged with the spirit of the show and the Blue Man himself. We think we have finally figured it out, and hopefully we will accomplish our goal, which is always to help audience members reconnect with their own sense of wonder and discovery, with their own sense of what is possible in their lives.”

BLUE MAN GROUP is joined by previously announced programs for the 2013-2014 season: the South Florida premiere of the worldwide smash-hit musical featuring Queen’s legendary hits WE WILL ROCK YOU December 10-15, 2013; followed by the hilarious holiday-themed Broadway musical ELF, set to bring in the New Year December 31, 2013-January 5, 2014. In addition, Miami audiences will experience, for the first time, the irresistible love story of Tony Award®-winning “Best Musical” ONCE from February 4-9, 2014; the heart-warming tale of loyalty and friendship and winner of 5 2011 Tony Awards® WAR HORSE, March 4-9, 2014; and the stunning new production of one of the most beloved musicals of all time – Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Tony Award®-winning musical EVITA from May 27 – June 1, 2014.
MAMMA MIA!, Broadway in Miami’s 2013 – 2014 season extra and the ultimate feel-good musical filled with ABBA hits, returns to the Arsht Center on October 11-13, 2013.
