Billboard Latin Music Award Winners Aventura Add SECOND Show at Hard Rock Live on July 6

With its July 7 date at Hard Rock Live nearly sold out, Aventura announced today they will add a second date to their stop in South Florida at Hard Rock Live at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino – Hollywood on July 6 at 8 p.m. Tickets for the July 6 show date go on sale on Saturday, May 29 at 10 a.m.*

Fresh off of their sweep of the Billboard Latin Music Awards, with nine wins for Latin Artist and Album of the Year, the Dominican-American super group Aventura will bring their signature  Bronx bachata beat to Hard Rock Live at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on both Tuesday, July 6 at 8 p.m. and Wednesday, July 7 at 8 p.m.

Keeping it all in the extended family, Aventura is Romeo (lead singer and featured composer), Lenny Santos (musical producer and guitarist), Max “Mikey” Santos (bassist and rap artist) and Henry Santos Jeter (singer and composer). Aventura’s nouveau sound fuses bachata (a guitar-based Dominican folkloric music sometimes called the “Dominican blues”) with R & B, hip hop and other American pop and urban styles. Their award-winning songs span tales of the tough reality of growing up in the concrete jungle to romance and heartbreak.

The group struggled for eight years before exploding on the scene in the summer of 2002 with the hit single, “Obsesion.”  Loyal fans from the group’s Bronx neighborhood ran with the innovative sounds of their local band, and the fanaticism soon spread across the tri-state area, into the Northeast and across the country. For 16 straight weeks the single “Obsesion” charted number 1 in Italy; the album We Broke the Rules (actually their second album) topped the charts for months as well. From there, Aventura charted number one in Spain, Holland, Belgium, Austria, Greece, Slovenia and Romania eventually winning over France and Germany.

Love & Hate (2003) was followed by the incredibly popular God’s Project (2004) that sold in excess of 500,000 units and remains #1 in sales on the Billboard Tropical Chart and in the top ten in Latin Albums. It features the Bollywood-inspired hit “Un Chi Chi,” the flamenco-tinged “Un Beso” and the reggaeton-bachata styled “Ella y Yo.”

Aventura’s fifth album, KOB Live (Kings of Bachata), a three-disc project, was released in 2006. It contained five new studio songs, the best-of international performances and comedic skits by Aventura’s members, and a video component with excerpts from the sold-out concerts at Madison Square Garden and Altos de Chavon (La Romana, Dominican Republic). It also featured the video “Los infieles” and fan-inspired footage.  “Mi corazoncito,” the album’s second single won several awards at Premio lo Nuestro, Billboard Latin Awards, Premio La Juventud, Monitor Latino and received an ASCAP Award for Song of the Year.

The band’s most recent release is the award-winning The Last (2009) which debuted at #5 on the Billboard 200 and #1 across the board on the Latin Charts.

Tickets for both show dates cost $150, $125, $95 & $75.* All seats are reserved and available at the Hard Rock Live Box Office, open Tuesday – Saturday from noon to 7 p.m. and on Sunday & Monday – only open on event days at noon.
