Awesomeness Films today announced the production of new original live-action movie Honor Society. The film follows Honor (Angourie Rice), an ambitious high school senior whose sole focus is getting into Harvard, assuming she can first score the coveted recommendation from her guidance counselor, Mr. Calvin (Christopher Mintz-Plasse). Willing to do whatever it takes, Honor concocts a Machiavellian-like plan to take down her top three student competitors, until things take a turn when she unexpectedly falls for her biggest competition, Michael (Gaten Matarazzo). Directed by Oran Zegman (Marriage Material, TriStar’s Troop Beverly Hills) and written by David A. Goodman (Family Guy, Futurama), production begins today in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, with plans for a late 2022 premiere on Paramount+.
In addition to Rice, Matarazzo and Mintz-Plasse, the cast includes Armani Jackson and Amy Keum. Rice (Spider-Man: No Way Home, Mare of Easttown) is represented by WME, Catherine Poulton Management, Sloane Offer and The Lede Company. Screen Actor Guild Awards® recipient Matarazzo (Stranger Things, Prank Encounters) is represented by UTA, McKuin Frankel Whitehead, and Parkside Talent. Mintz-Plasse (Kick-Ass, Superbad) is newly represented by Verve and Artists First. Zegman is represented by WME and Industry Entertainment. Goodman, who sold the project to Awesomeness, is represented by A3 Artists Agency and Fourth Wall Management.
Honor Society is executive produced by Ron French (The J Team). Production of the film at Awesomeness is overseen by Syrinthia Studer, Executive Vice President, Nickelodeon and Awesomeness Films, and Fred Lee, Director of Development.

Honor Society joins a lineup of new projects from Nickelodeon and Awesomeness Films slated for premieres in 2022 on Paramount+, including the previously-announced family film Fantasy Football, in partnership with The SpringHill Company (Space Jam: A New Legacy) and Marsai Martin and Joshua Martin’s Genius Entertainment (Little), and the film adaptation of the New York Times best-selling young adult book Hush Hush.
