Auditions for Boys Dance Program in South Florida

danceSaturday, June 15 at 11 am at their studios located at 15939 Biscayne Boulevard in North Miami Beach.
Pittsburgh Steelers Lynn Swan, who enrolled in extensive ballet classes, and Hines Ward who rocked sports fans when he participated on ‘Dancing With The Stars’ confirmed it. The athleticism on a male dancer is very real and admirable. The strength and power of a male dancer’s jump, turns and force is reflective of his ballet training and the demand for a well trained male dancer with this type of athletic flexibility is making this career more attractive every year. A great number young boys enroll in distinguished and serious dance studios. There is a LOT of power behind the grace.
The perfect opportunity for athletically aspiring young boys in South Florida has arrived. Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida will be holding auditions on Saturday, June 15 at 11 am at their studios located at 15939 Biscayne Boulevard in North Miami Beach.
There are 12 scholarships available for boys ages 5 to 7, 8 to 11 and 12 to 18 to take weekly dance lessons with Vladimir Issaev, Artistic Director of Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida and some of his principal male dancers of the professional company.
This initiative comes from the generosity of several individuals and private foundations that have created the Dr. Jules Oaklander Scholarship Fund for Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida, to provide tuition-free training to boys interested in this discipline. The program offers classes in three different levels, including partnering lessons for the intermediate to advanced students.
Young male dancers will enhance their physical abilities, including coordination, strength and flexibility and it will help develop their athletic skills.
Classes will begin in September 2013 for the school year ending in June of 2014, and a possible invitation to the summer Intensive program of July of 2014 is part of this great opportunity.
Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida is supported by members of its board, Dr. Jules Oaklander, Miami Dade Department of Cultural Affairs, The Bedford Foundation, Macy’s And Target Foundations as well as private donations.
