Food & Wine
L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon at the Four Seasons Hotel at the Surf Club holds two Michelin stars — the only restaurant in Miami to do so. The chef counter, always the most coveted configuration in the Robuchon format, is now operating a restricted private tasting experience that limits the seating to a handful of guests per service.
Two Michelin stars. The only restaurant in Miami to hold them. The counter seats a handful. The experience is built around that scarcity.
The Counter Format
The Robuchon counter format was designed to dissolve the boundary between kitchen and dining room. At L'Atelier Miami, the private counter experience takes this further — guests are seated directly at the pass, with the kitchen team working in full view across a narrow expanse of marble. The chef de cuisine presents each course personally, with commentary on sourcing, technique, and the seasonal logic behind the menu architecture.
The Menu
The multi-course seasonal tasting menu changes with the market and the chef's current preoccupations. Signature preparations — the pomme purée, the langoustine ravioli, the Le Caviar — anchor the progression, but the surrounding courses shift with the season. The wine pairing is handled by a dedicated sommelier who works the counter exclusively, with a program that draws from Burgundy, Champagne, and the Loire.
The Concierge Layer
The private counter experience includes a dedicated guest concierge who manages the evening from reservation confirmation through departure — dietary preferences, arrival coordination, and post-dinner arrangements. For guests arriving from the Four Seasons, the transition from room to counter is seamless. For those coming from elsewhere in the Design District, valet coordination is handled through the hotel.
Reservations for the private counter are handled through the restaurant directly and are not available through standard booking platforms. The experience is priced accordingly. For Art Week, availability is extremely limited — the counter books months in advance for the December window.

Macchialina's Pasta Omakase Is the Most Undervalued Fine Dining Experience in Miami
Macchialina on Alton Road has been one of Miami's most respected Italian kitchens since 2012. The Pasta Omakase — running every Wednesday through December 30 — is the most concentrated expression of what the kitchen does. The combination of Michael Pirolo's pasta and Jacqueline Pirolo's wine program is the most undervalued fine dining experience in the city.
Le Jardinier Has the Best Art Week Tasting Menu in Miami — and a Dessert Inspired by Picasso
Le Jardinier at the Design District is running a $190 five-course Art Week tasting menu from December 1–6. The final course — a dessert called Chef's Kiss, created in collaboration with Le Jardinier Houston and inspired by the Picasso-Klee-Matisse exhibition at PAMM — is the most editorially interesting single dish in Miami right now. Thanksgiving runs $185 per person, 12pm–9pm.
