On May 20th, Kimpton’s EPIC Hotel in downtown Miami, recently chosen as a Top 10 Luxury Hotel, a Top 10 Trendiest Hotel, and a Top 25 Hotel in the U.S. by TripAdvisor® in its 2010 Travelers’ Choice® Awards, welcomed Jon Paul Buchmeyer, author of Alphabet City: My So-Called Sitcom Life, to host the “Art of Storytelling” as part of the hotel’s continuation of its popular “EPIC Wine Hour Presents: Art Of” series.
Guests who attended the “Art of Storytelling” event enjoyed wine, nibbles from Area 31 and a meet-and-greet with author Jon Paul Buchmeyer. Held on the hotel’s 16th floor wrap-around pool deck, Buchmeyer signed books, answered questions and read an excerpt from Alphabet City: My Life as a Sitcom. As part of his national book tour sponsored by Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants, John Paul Buchmeyer shared insights on crafting a good tale using examples from his book Alphabet City: My So-Called Sitcom Life. Buchmeyer showed how to effectively engage with an audience, while maintaining a sense of privacy.
Following the “Art of Storytelling” event at the EPIC Hotel, guests attended a VIP cocktail reception at the Roof Upper Penthouse of EPIC Residences, which sponsored and hosted the VIP event. Nibbles were provided by Area 31 and signature cocktails by River Lounge.
