ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1, played by Ms. Kern, contains the thunderously triumphant opening chords that are among the most famous in all classical music. Berezovsky’s irresistible Symphony in C Major is a piece that stands alone with its infectious, joyous rhythms. Closing the concert is Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 6., which is possibly his greatest symphony, and maybe even his greatest work.
