Deering Estate celebrates Women’s History Month with ‘She Creates: Women in Music and Art’, a performance by Susana Behar

As part of her ongoing residency at the Deering Estate, award-winning vocalist Susana Behar presents the fourth annual concert in celebration of Women’s History Month on Sunday, March 29th at Deering Estate. For the past three years, this special program has honored the artistic voices, stories, and legacies of women through music and performance.

This year, the celebration expands to include invited female artists from multiple disciplines, creating an evening of collaboration, dialogue, and shared expression. Through music and interdisciplinary artistry, the program highlights the creativity, strength, and cultural contributions of women across traditions and generations.

At the heart of the evening is Susana Behar’s musical program, dedicated to iconic female composers, musicians and performers, whose voices have shaped the course of music history.

“Women have always been creators, innovators, and carriers of cultural memory. This evening brings together artists from different disciplines and backgrounds to recognize that shared strength and to celebrate the global impact of women’s artistic voices.”
