Currently on view in the Freedom Tower’s Wolfson Gallery, Belkis Ayón and Carlos Alfonzo: Odyssey showcases the works of two artists shaped by their experiences living in Cuba.
In tune with the world around them, Ayón and Alfonzo developed visual styles informed by AfroCuban culture. Although each navigated their artistic practices in different forms, their works continue to shape generations of artists and impact the ways in which contemporary art history takes shape. |
