According to a survey by Cheaphotels.org, Miami Beach is the most costly destination worldwide to book accommodation for New Year’s Eve. The city’s cheapest available three-night stay from December 30 to January 2 costs $1,187 for a double room—nearly double regular January rates, up 197%.
Rio de Janeiro and New York City follow closely with rates of $1,172 and $1,164, respectively. These cities also experience surges of over 200% compared to typical rates in January.
Worldwide, hotel prices have surged significantly, with Bangkok seeing the largest percentage increase of 94% since 2022, while Phnom Penh remains the most affordable, at just $20 per night.
This year’s rankings highlight the rising costs of ringing in the New Year in major cities around the globe, with Miami Beach leading as the priciest hotspot for holiday travelers.
