Miami’s premier art fair wrapped up its most dynamic edition yet, under the leadership of Director Bridget Finn. The event brought together 283 galleries from 43 countries, including 48 debut exhibitors, and welcomed over 80,000 visitors from across the Americas, Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.
Standout moments included the debut of Zero 10, Art Basel’s pioneering digital art sector, which attracted significant collector and institutional interest with sold-out editions from Beeple Studios and engagement with top virtual artists like Tyler Hobbs and XCOPY. Meridians, curated by Yasmil Raymond, showcased ambitious large-scale works probing themes of time, with installations by Kye Christensen-Knowles and Silva Rivas captivating audiences.
The inaugural Art Basel Awards Night, hosted by Swizz Beatz at the New World Center, celebrated global trailblazers in art, design, fashion, and music. Honorees included Cecilia Vicuña, Nairy Baghramian, and Ibrahim Mahama, with the first BOSS Award for Outstanding Achievement awarded to Meriem Bennani. The event featured immersive lighting, live orchestral performances, and a vibrant rooftop after-party against the Miami skyline.
The fair’s engaging Conversations program drew record attendance, exploring intersections of art, sport, and digital innovation, including panels with athletes like Malcolm Jenkins and pioneering Web3 creators.
The City of Miami Beach continued its Legacy Purchase Program, acquiring Peruvian artist Ximena Garrido-Lecca’s Modulations—Sequence XXIX, further cementing Miami’s role as a cultural epicenter.
Bridget Finn summarized the fair’s success: “Our 2025 edition energized the global art scene, celebrated diverse voices, and reinforced Miami’s influence as a cultural leader. We look forward to building on this momentum at next year’s edition from December 4-6.”
