Guatemalan premium rum brand Ron Zacapa continues its tradition of championing Latin American creativity by honoring Patricia Bonaldi, founder of PatBO, as the 2025 “Visionary of the Year.” The award, presented at the Latin American Fashion Summit (LAFS) Gala on November 4th, celebrates designers who blend tradition, craftsmanship, and purpose, elevating Latin American culture globally.
This marks Zacapa’s third consecutive partnership with LAFS, reaffirming its commitment to supporting Latin American artisans. Bonaldi’s work in preserving artisanal techniques through her Costurando Sonhos (“Sewing Dreams”) project empowers hundreds of women in Brazil, aligning with Zacapa’s dedication to community upliftment and cultural legacy—values deeply rooted in Guatemalan heritage, exemplified through its ongoing Petate weaving project supporting over 700 women.
Said Patricia Bonaldi, “Artisans and women are at the heart of my work. Recognition from Zacapa and LAFS highlights how investing in heritage and communities shapes a more inclusive future for Latin American design.”
Sofia Lacayo and Estefanía Tams of LAFS added, “This partnership has helped amplify Latin American talent on the world stage, fostering creativity, community, and craftsmanship.”
As Zacapa approaches its 50th anniversary in 2026, this year’s celebration honors legacy, artistry, and human connection that define the spirit of Latin America’s cultural and creative evolution.
