The Alhambra Orchestra, led by by Artistic Director Daniel Andai, proudly presents the three amazing young winners of its annual concerto competition for South Florida middle and high-school students. Michael Li, a 14-year-old violin student from Dreyfoos School of the Arts in West Palm Beach, will perform the dazzling Vieuxtemps Violin Concerto no. 5. Eleven-year-old pianist Lilah Hahn, from West Palm Beach, will present a piano concerto by Emilie Mayer, a prolific German composer of Romantic-era music, sometimes called the “female Beethoven.” Violist Raul Rodriguez, a senior at West Broward Preparatory School, will perform the Walton Viola Concerto, a modern viola showpiece. The Alhambra Orchestra will also perform Wagner’s exciting Overture from Die Meistersinger, and Slavonic Dance no. 4 by Dvorak. Bring your whole family to enjoy this varied and exciting program . The Alhambra Orchestra is Miami’s community orchestra, presenting live classical performances in affordable, convenient venues.
