Deadline to apply is April 10, 2025
For the first time, the Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation® has announced a four-year scholarship for a bachelor’s degree, sponsored by Warner Music Latina. The new Prodigy Scholarship will cover tuition and room and board for Berklee College of Music starting in the fall 2025 semester, in addition to wrap-around services that support students in their musical journeys.
This partnership marks a significant milestone, as it is the first time a record label has sponsored the scholarship since its inception a decade ago. “This partnership embodies one of our core values: to cultivate intellectual and artistic potential by removing barriers that impede exceptional musicians,” said Alejandro Duque, President of Warner Music Latin America. Roberto Andrade, Managing Director of Warner Music Latina, emphasized the label’s commitment to nurturing emerging artists, stating, “By empowering aspiring musicians, we’re investing in the voices that will shape tomorrow’s soundtrack.”
In addition to the Prodigy Scholarship, the Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation is offering various scholarships for music students ages 17 to 25 facing financial challenges. These include two Gifted Tuition Scholarships of up to $120,000 each for students pursuing degrees in music at the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami and other institutions. The Frost School has collaborated with the Foundation, recently hosting its 10-year anniversary celebration.
The Gil Family Foundation will also award a scholarship of up to $120,000, while several Tuition Assistance Scholarships offering up to $12,500 each will support students attending music schools of their choice. Additionally, Gibson Gives, the philanthropic arm of the iconic instrument maker, will offer three scholarships of up to $12,500 for guitar students, each including a Gibson guitar.
Applications for all 2025 scholarships are open until April 10, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. EDT. Interested candidates can apply online, with submissions accepted in English, Spanish, or Portuguese. Requirements include audition videos, letters of recommendation, essays, and an acceptance letter from an accredited institution.
To date, the Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation has awarded 427 scholarships, investing over $10 million in aspiring Latin music creators. The Prodigy Scholarship has been co-sponsored by numerous renowned artists, including Sebastián Yatra, Nicky Jam, and Juanes, reflecting the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to supporting Latin music’s next generation.
