Willy Chirino Supports Benefit for Miami-Dade School’s First Autism Academy

Etra Fine Art Gallery will host a benefit to raise funds for the restoration of the playground at Blue Lakes Elementary School, where the Autism Intensive Communication Academy is located.

The benefit will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 17, 2010. A donation of $100 will be accept at the door, 100% of the proceeds will go toward the restoration of the playground. The Academy is the first of its kind for the Miami-Dade County Public School System and was introduced this school year by Superintendent Alberto Carvalho.

The benefit also holds special meaning to Grammy award-winning singer/producer Willy Chirino, whose grandson was diagnosed with autism. Chirino along with his daughter, Grammy award-winning songwriter and teacher at the academy Angie Chirino, will perform together during the event.
