Join Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) and Juan Carlos Maldonado Collection (JCMC) for a special centennial celebration of the world- renowned Kinetic art movement by artist Jesús Rafael Soto. Enjoy a special talk and look at the history of Soto’s life and practice with historian and curator Ariel Jiménez, followed by a screening of “Soto, Una nueva visión del arte,” a documentary highlighting Soto’s work between 1958 and 2002, directed by Angel Hurtado. Both the lecture and film will be in Spanish with simultaneous interpretation available in ASL, English, and Haitian Creole.
The evening will culminate with a reception outside surrounding Soto’s interactive Penetrable BBL Blue, on view at PAMM and generously provided on a long-term loan from the Juan Carlos Maldonado Collection. |
