An initiative launched by Misty Copeland alongside her friend and ballet colleague, Joseph Phillips, called Swans for Relief. Misty and Joseph united 32 ballerinas from around the world, including Miami City Ballet’s Nathalia Arja- for a special video virtual performance of The Dying Swan, accompanied by cellist Wade Davis.The Swans for Relief GoFundMe Charity campaign was announced this morning on the Today Show, and will continue raising funds for the various companies’ dancer relief efforts and other arts/dance-related nonprofit organizations helping freelance dancers or those without an official relief fund.
