25th Anniversary of AIDS Walk Miami

AIDS Walk MiamiAPRIL 28th, 2013, as Care Resource presents the 25th Anniversary of AIDS Walk Miami, a 5k (3.1 mile) walk-a-thon fundraiser benefiting those who have been affected by or infected with HIV/AIDS in our South Florida Communities.

Funds raised from this annual event benefit Care Resource, South Florida’s oldest and largest HIV/AIDS community organization providing Primary Medical Care, Dental, Psychosocial, Case Management, Outreach and Prevention, Food Bank, Home Delivered Meals and Nutritional counseling and education to over 15,000 residents living in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties who are either affected or infected with HIV/AIDS.

This year, Care Resource is proud to welcome Dr. Robert C. Gallo as our distinguished Grand Marshal. Dr. Gallo is the eminent scientist who became world famous in 1984 when he co-discovered HIV as the cause of AIDS. He is currently the founder and director of the Institute of Human Virology – which was established to create and develop a world-class center of excellence focusing on chronic viral diseases, especially HIV/AIDS and virally-linked cancers.
