Gables Hispanic Cultural Festival on Saturday, Sept. 25th

The Community is Invited to Participate in this Celebration of Hispanic Culture on Biltmore Way in Coral Gables – Featuring Activities for the Entire Family

The Gables Hispanic Cultural Foundation, Inc. will host the inaugural Gables Hispanic Cultural Festival on Saturday, September 25, 2010, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. The festival promises a fun-filled day for the entire family featuring fine arts, traditional arts & crafts and music, a special children’s play pavilion with bounce houses, face painters and a range of activities, consulates representing diverse countries, Guayaberas and culinary artists showcasing the unique flavors of the Hispanic culture.

The festival will include a special tribute to one of Cuba’s greatest artists, the late master Cundo Bermúdez, with the exhibition Madria Tiri, 2005 at Coral Gables City Hall. The exhibition will honor the artist’s abundant career and his contribution to modern art. The Madria Tiri will also serve as the official poster of the Inaugural Gables Hispanic Cultural Festival 2010.

The Festival will also serve as the kick-off to Miami-Dade County’s month long celebrations of Hispanic Heritage.

“We are excited to be part of this exciting event launching Hispanic Heritage Month in Miami-Dade County,” said Magali Abad, Chair of the Miami-Dade Hispanic Advisory Board and member of the Coral Gables Hispanic Cultural Foundation, Inc.

Additionally, the festival will feature the first ever SMOKIN’ IN THE GABLES VIP LOUNGE. This area of the festival will bring together cigar aficionados in an atmosphere of fine cigars and cocktails all for a good cause in an exclusive lounge setting, which is sponsored by Bacardi®. More than 30 of the top Cigar manufacturers in the country will be on-site showcasing their products. The Smokin’ in the Gables VIP Lounge will be open from 1 p.m. – 6 p.m. during the Festival.
