Former Miami Dolphins players Joe Rose and Twan Russell will host the 10th Annual Links for Literacy VIP Party on March 4, 2011 at Passions Night Club at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and Celebrity Golf Classic on March 5, 2011 at Orangebrook Golf and Country Club to raise funds to support Russell Life Skills and Reading Foundation’s Reading Rooms in Broward and Miami-Dade Counties.
Links for Literacy Celebrity Golf Classic weekend gives many a chance to mingle, meet and play golf with local sports celebrities benefiting The Russell Life Skills and Reading Foundation (RLSARF). RLSARF was founded by former University of Miami & Miami Dolphins player, Twan Russell. This event is sponsored in part by Publix Supermarkets, MetroPCS, Regions Bank, the City of Hollywood, The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, Lime Fresh Mexican Grill and Lifestyle Magazine Group.
The weekend begins on Friday, March 4, 2011 at 6:00 PM at the VIP Party at Passion Night Club hosted by Joe Rose and Twan Russell. Past celebrities in attendance have included current Miami Dolphins players along with former Miami Dolphins players such as Nat Moore, Dwight Stephenson, OJ McDuffie, Kim Bokamper, Mark Higgs, James Pruitt, Corwin Anthony, John Offerdahl, Derrick Rodgers, Kerry Glenn, Bobby Harden and Troy Drayton, former NY Yankees pitcher Stan Bahnsen, Cowboys alumni Jesse Soloman, Jets alumni Don Silvestri and former NBA star Dennis Rodman to name a few. The Celebrity Golf Classic takes place Saturday, March 5, 2011, at Orangebrook Country Club in Hollywood. Registration opens at 10:00 am, shotgun start is at noon sharp. Foursomes are paired with a celebrity. Each golfer has the opportunity to participate in a variety of challenges and enjoy food and drinks provided by our partners throughout the course. The Region’s Bank 19th Hole Awards Party will take place immediately following play. $500 for a foursome which includes the Celebrity VIP party on March 4, 2011 or individual golfers may register for $125.
