The Beach Ball Gala stands as the flagship event in the YMCA of South Florida’s annual calendar, embodying the unwavering commitment to water safety and drowning prevention. With water all around us, South Florida leads the nation in childhood drownings. Annually, 600 philanthropic business professionals from the tri-county area attend to network and raise funds to ensure families and individuals are safe in and around water. All proceeds from the Beach Ball Gala support Financial Assistance for Aquatics programming—that means that anyone, regardless of ability to pay, can come to the Y to learn water safety.
