Joining the diverse roster of retailers settling into the Wynwood neighborhood, Wynwood Shades, a new sunglass concept, has opened its doors featuring a variety of coveted brands from around the world. Wynwood Shades is a unique retail and soon-to-be online environment showcasing various collections of designer eyewear. The shop offers a little something for everyone, from the sophisticated-chic to the fashion-forward.
A concept incepted and mindfully curated by Aysegul Colakel, a Turkish entrepreneur and globetrotter with extensive experience within the optical industry, Wynwood Shades offers its customers a more tailored and enjoyable experience than that of a large sunglass retailer. Strategically located in the heart of Miami’s Art District, Wynwood Shades fuses together elements of art and style creating a refreshing environment for shoppers to enjoy. The 465 square ft. space boasts a large mural created by Mexican street artist Argeo Mondragon. The mural captures a woman’s face represented with geometric shapes; this depicts the various shapes and sizes seen in optical frames, by way of art.
“The store targets both local consumers and tourists alike, however, we make a strong effort to place an emphasis on community relationships and supporting our local Wynwood neighborhood.” Said Colakel “I selected Wynwood as my flagship location because I saw the potential for extreme growth and opportunity in the area; Wynwood is the perfect place for art, fashion and creativity to come to life.”
Wynwood Shades offers a variety of upscale brands including Furla, Ray-Ban, Police, Balenciaga, Tod’s, Michael Kors, Tom Ford, Miu Miu, Prada, Carolina Herrera, Chopard, Persol, Lanvin, Givenchy, Dolce & Gabbana, Illesteva, Dita, Tom Ford, Hally & Sons and Oliver Peoples, to name a few. Each pair of glasses found within the store is carefully selected to coincide with the store’s distinctive personality.
Wynwood Shades is located at 2621 NW 2ND Ave Miami, FL 33137, and is open Mondayto Thursday from 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 pm., Sunday from 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., and 11:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
