Wines from Spain, a division of the Trade Commission of Spain, will partner with local nonprofit Feeding South Florida for its 17th annual ‘Great Match: Vivacious Varietals, Tantalizing Tastes’ tasting tour on Wednesday, Oct. 13 from 6:00 – 8:30 p.m. at the Biltmore Hotel, located at 1200 Anastasia Avenue, Coral Gables. A portion of the ticket sales from the Great Match will benefit Feeding South Florida, a not-for-profit organization that empowers other South Florida not-for-profit organizations to assist people in need and improve their lives.

Wines from Spain selected Feeding South Florida as part of its commitment to making a difference in the community by helping those struggling with food insecurity in the four county region that the food bank services. By providing food and other grocery products, and by educating and engaging the community to fight hunger and poverty, Feeding South Florida is a natural fit for the Wines from Spain Great Match event.
About The Great Match Miami
The Great Match Miami will be held at the Biltmore Hotel, located at 1200 Anastasia Avenue, Coral Gables. Eight prominent Miami area chefs, including Luis Quant of Por Fin and Michael Gilligan of Solea, will prepare small signature dishes designed to show the versatility of Spanish wines. Guests will have the opportunity to taste more than 200 current release wines, highlighting Spain’s indigenous varietals. Tickets will be available for $45 and proceeds will benefit Feeding South Florida. The consumer event is open to the general public.

Prior to the consumer Great Match event, Wines from Spain invites wine and restaurant professionals and media for a tasting of Spain’s most sought-after wines from 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. This portion of the event is open exclusively to trade and media and includes an educational seminar hosted by Marnie Old, nationally renowned sommelier, author and wine educator, on Rioja wines. Pre-registration is required and offered online at www.greatmatch.org. Attendees will be asked to provide a business card at registration.
