Wildfox Couture is set to unveil its debut swimwear collection at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Swim on Friday, July 15th at 11pm at the Penthouse of the Raleigh Hotel in Miami Beach, FL. The launch party and collection presentation will reflect the brand’s fun and fashion-forward vibe featuring models on platforms and live DJ’s Mia Moretti and Caitlin Moe. Renowned cosmetics line Make-Up Forever will be on hand to support the swimwear collection’s aesthetic by creating dramatic eyes and glamorous lips.
Wildfox’s premiere Swim 2012 collection draws inspiration from bombshells of the past including the unforgettable Brigitte Bardot, Marylin Monroe and Raquel Welch. The range is colored with lovely seventies light pastels, white and blue denim, dainty floral prints, Wildfox-classic neon pinks and bright red. The designers channel dreamy, romantic stories of the west, female villains like Bonnie of Bonnie and Clyde, and sixties beach movies like Gidget and Elvis Presley’s Beach Party.
Any girl in a Wildfox suit is a heroine in her own story, stealing hearts on the beach left and right. Retro silhouettes with an updated modern fit reinvent the one piece, high waist bikini and classic string bikini with whimsical prints and ultra-feminine ruffled elements. The debut Wildfox Swim collection is a nod to the fun and power of being a girl – especially with a tan.
Musician Jimmy Sommers and co-designers Kimberley Gordon and Emily Faulstich established Wildfox Couture in Los Angeles in 2007. Popular for its soft fabrics and unique designs, the line has progressed into tanks, sweatshirts, leggings, dresses, denim – going into it’s fourth season for Fall 2011 and third season for the White Label sweater knit collection. With continued growth and success of the Women’s line, a kids division called Wildfox Kids hit stores in Fall 2009.
The LA-made brand is available at better retail boutiques nationwide including Kitson, Singer 22 and Planet Blue, along with select department stores like Bloomingdale’s. Internationally, Wildfox Couture is distributed in over 30 countries worldwide including the U.K., Germany, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Russia and Taiwan and can be found in such stores as Harvey Nichol’s, Selfridges and Queen for a Day.
