Whole Foods Market 5% Day Raises $4,444 for Actors’ Playhouse at the Miracle Mile

Actors’ Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre raised an even $4,444 thanks to Whole Foods Market in Coral Gables’ Community 5 Percent Day, June 23. The generous donation is the result of Whole Food’s commitment to donate five percent of the day’s net sales to a local non-profit organization. All proceeds will specifically benefit Actors’ Playhouse Musical Theatre for Young Audiences and will help support the theatre’s commitment to education and developing future theatergoers.

Many of Actors’ Playhouse’s loyal patrons came out to show support that day, stocking up on groceries and buying gift certificates for future visits. The cast of Actors’ Playhouse Musical Theatre for Young Audiences’ Pippi Longstocking delighted shoppers with a sampling of musical numbers from their summer production. After the performance, Pippi and the gang greeted customers and bagged groceries. The theatre’s staff was also on-hand, providing shoppers with information about upcoming shows and events.

“This was a wonderful opportunity to partner with Whole Foods to support our non-profit organization, as well as meet and greet our neighbors in a setting outside the Miracle Theatre,” said Executive Producing Director Barbara S. Stein.
