WASHINGTON’S BIRTHDAY REGATTA
The Barnacle Historic State Park

Description:

Follow in the footsteps of Commodore Ralph Munroe, yacht designer, Coconut Grove pioneer, and founder of Biscayne Bay Yacht Club. The Washington’s Birthday Regatta originated at Munroe’s new boathouse in 1887.

This fun race is open to vessels of traditional design regardless of construction: mud hens, sea pearls, bullseyes, sharpies, Bahama dinghies, cat boats, gaff-rigs, etc.

There will be a Skipper’s Meeting at 10:30 a.m. The race will begin at noon, rain or shine. Award ceremony and a traditional chowder dinner start at 5:30 p.m.
